Supporting Football 4 All

One of the primary aims of the 4 All Foundation is to promote happier and healthier lifestyles, which is why so many of our activities centre around sport, active games and healthy eating.
A fundamental part of the work we do is the sponsorship and support of the North Shropshire District Football Association, which helps provide children across the area with opportunities to play football, and represent their district with pride.
Since its relaunch in 2017, the Association has gone strength to strength – overseen by our very own Director of Operations George Hounsell. The programme started with just one team (Under 11s Boys) and has expanded year on year, including in 2025 which will mark the first time the district has had an Under 10s Boys team. To us, this represents how much community engagement we’ve been able to undertake, which has seen more young people eager to join us and have the opportunity to play competitive football.
We anticipate this reach becoming even bigger, as we have recently appointed a Football Development Officer - Simon Bell.
The Association is a fantastic starting point for children from rural areas across North Shropshire, giving them the chance to train at top facilities, compete against larger districts and showcase their talent – often opening doors to opportunities with professional clubs. In fact, there are former North Shropshire players who have gone on to sign with top clubs including Manchester United, Aston Villa, Stoke City, Port Vale, Shrewsbury Town and AFC Telford.
Reflecting on the journey, George says: “When we restarted, it was tough – our teams struggled against larger districts simply due to the difference in population size. But now, after years of hard work and development, we’re proud to be competing at the highest levels and winning cups, leagues and regional competitions.”
North Shropshire District Football proudly shares the same vision as the 4 All Foundation: ‘For everyone to have the opportunity to overcome barriers in order to thrive’, and brings this to life through upholding the core values of: ambition, collaboration, creativity, empathy and inclusivity.
