Rotary donation to bring joy into children's lives

The 4 All Foundation has received a £250 donation from Shrewsbury Severn Rotary Club, after members discovered more about the charity’s work during a recent talk.
Gemma Hargreaves, our Corporate & Events Engagement Officer, visited the group to talk about the transformation of Harlescott Grange Community Centre in the town – as well as the programmes taking place there.
The foundation took over the running of the centre this autumn and we are working with corporate partners to transform the site. The support currently in place there includes a daily breakfast club for Grange Primary School pupils, a weekly youth club, cancer wellbeing sessions funded by Lingen Davies, creative arts and holiday programmes.
Gemma told Rotary members that youth and community provisions were delivered free of charge to remove barriers to access, and ensure no child or family were excluded due to costs.
She added: “We would welcome any help that can be provided to assist a child or young person to feel that they belong.
“This will bring joy into children’s lives. We are always looking to put on holiday activities and future events. More importantly, we have a lovely centre, and we need resources to ensure it can be open for more hours a day.”
Rotarian Gareth Watkins, the club’s immediate past secretary, said: “We do have an emphasis as a club on making things happen locally and try to support local organisations to make an impact.”
