Our team proudly accepted a Shrewsbury Mayor’s Award on Wednesday (May 7th) and was shortlisted at the Club Hub UK Awards on Saturday (May 10th).

It was the 15th annual celebration hosted by Shrewsbury Town Council, with current Mayor Councillor David Vasmer choosing the Foundation as his Community category winner. This award is intended to ‘celebrate the work of community groups and individuals who have contributed to the social wellbeing of the town’ including major community projects.

We were recognised for our work restoring and managing Ditherington Community Centre, hosting a wealth of activities there including a weekly Stay and Play for babies, toddlers and their parents and carers, and a Weekly Wellbeing Club who are currently undertaking a garden project.

We also partner with schools in the town such as The Grange Primary School to host a range of activities throughout half terms and holidays.

At the Club Hub Awards in Birmingham, the Foundation reached the finals in the Non-Profit of the Year category. Club Hub is an online directory of children’s activities used by millions of parents and carers – and their awards highlight the best among these programmes. We were also positioned at number 45 on the Club Hub list of top 100 activity providers in the country.

4 All was recognised due to our commitment to providing activities across Shropshire, with thousands of children having benefitted from attending holiday programmes, youth clubs and other activities, the majority of which are offered for free.

George Hounsell, Director of Operations said: “What an honour to have attended two awards ceremonies in one week! We’d like to thank the Mayor for his recognition of the work we undertake in Shrewsbury – not only at various locations around the town but also at the Ditherington Community Centre which was previously disused and is now a thriving hub of activities for everyone from newborns to pensioners!

“We are also very proud to have been shortlisted from the thousands of activity providers listed on Club Hub. The judges’ panel was full of family and child experts, so it’s fantastic that they were able to see the value our Foundation adds to the community in Shropshire.”
