4 All Foundation Receives Funding from England Heritage for Free Community Coach Trips to Shrewsbury Flaxmill in 2023

The 4 All Foundation is thrilled to announce that it has secured funding from England Heritage to facilitate free community coach trips to the historic Shrewsbury Flaxmill in 2023. This generous support will enable individuals and families from diverse backgrounds to access and appreciate the rich heritage of this iconic site.

The funding, provided by England Heritage, will cover the costs of organising and operating coach trips to the Shrewsbury Flaxmill, ensuring that members of the community have the opportunity to visit and explore this significant landmark. The trips aim to promote inclusivity and cultural engagement by offering free transportation and guided tours to participants.

The Shrewsbury Flaxmill holds immense historical importance, and these coach trips will provide an invaluable opportunity for people to learn about its heritage and significance. As part of the ongoing efforts to preserve and promote this heritage site, the 4 All Foundation is committed to making it accessible to everyone, regardless of their socio-economic background.

The funding received from England Heritage builds upon previous support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, which granted £12 million in 2014 for Phase 1 of the restoration project. This initial phase focused on the restoration of the Smithy, Stables, and Public Realm. Subsequently, in 2017, the funding was increased to a total of £20.7 million for Phase 2, encompassing the restoration of the Main Mill, Kiln, and repair of other buildings and landscapes.
